Molly brings nearly twenty years of experience in her work as a communications and public affairs strategist, along with a winning record at the ballot, in the legislature, launching innovative start-ups and beyond.

Before founding Weedn Public Affairs, Molly was a Principal at Axiom Advisors, a premiere full-service public affairs and lobbying firm, where she led the firm’s communications practice for five years. In her tenure at Axiom, Molly worked on winning ballot initiative campaigns to expand access to Medi-Cal, fund California’s public schools, curb the sale of flavored tobacco, enshrine the right to abortion into the California State Constitution and to fund mental health and homelessness programs. She worked to beat over-regulation of California’s burgeoning AI landscape, to bring financial literacy classes to high school students and to ensure vulnerable patients have access to health care.

Prior to her time at Axiom Advisors, Molly served as the Americas News Lead at Airbnb where she worked across the policy, legal, marketing and data teams to lead multi-faceted campaigns that drove coverage of the company’s work on policy, consumer and corporate communications initiatives. In her time at Airbnb, Molly worked with teams to pass model legislation legalizing short-term rentals in cities large and small, while also successfully overturning legislation through the local ballot referendum process and executing national partnerships to elevate the company’s mission.

Before joining the policy and communications team at Airbnb, Molly served as Vice President of Public Affairs at the California Medical Association where she developed and executed strategic communication plans for high profile legislative battles, public health initiatives and ballot measure campaigns.

Molly started her career at the Dewey Square Group, where she worked on political advocacy campaigns and served on the communication teams for several statewide initiatives.

Molly attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where she earned a degree in political science and went on to George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.

Molly lives in San Francisco with her husband, son and dog Muppet.
