Molly Weedn Launches “Weedn Public Affairs”
San Francisco - Molly Weedn is proud to announce the launch of Weedn Public Affairs, a strategic communications and public affairs firm based in San Francisco.
After five years leading the communications practice at Axiom Advisors, a full-service public affairs and lobbying firm, Molly has launched Weedn Public Affairs to continue working on strategic communications, statewide ballot initiatives and more.
“Over the nearly 15 years I’ve spent working with Molly, she has become one of California’s brightest communications strategists,” said Jodi Hicks, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California President & CEO. “Whether it’s at the ballot, on legislation or guiding coalition communications, I look forward to continued collaboration with Molly and Weedn Public Affairs.”
Molly has a long history of winning ballot initiative campaigns, including to expand access to Medi-Cal, fund California’s public schools, curb the sale of flavored tobacco, enshrine the right to abortion into the California State Constitution and to fund mental health and homelessness programs. Off the ballot, she recently worked to beat over-regulation of California’s burgeoning AI landscape, to bring financial literacy classes to high school students and to ensure vulnerable patients have access to health care.
“I have been lucky over the course of the last two decades to have worked with and learned from the brightest minds in this business,” said Molly Weedn, Principal and Founder, Weedn Public Affairs. “Bringing Weedn Public Affairs to life is a long-time goal and something I look forward to building in years to come, while continuing to provide the same strategic communications guidance, media relations savvy, ballot measure execution and terrible jokes that have each become my trademarks.”
Prior to her time at Axiom Advisors, Molly served as the Americas News Lead at Airbnb where she worked across the policy, legal, marketing and data teams to lead multi-faceted campaigns that drove coverage of the company’s work on policy, consumer and corporate communications initiatives.
Before joining the policy and communications team at Airbnb, Molly served as Vice President of Public Affairs at the California Medical Association, where she developed and executed strategic communication plans for high profile legislative battles, public health initiatives and ballot measure campaigns.
